![]() | Bernice Wright is a well known artist, especially for her land and seascapes, painting both realistic and abstract. She began her art career working in oils, but now paints almost exclusively in water colour and mixed media. Born at Nedlands and educated at Nedlands Primary School and Presbyterian Ladies College, Western Australia She has exhibited in many group shows, won awards at Mosman Park Town Council, Royal Agricultural Society of W.A. Pinjarra, Wagin, Narrogin, Dianella, Cottesloe, Mandurah, Cossack and Kalgoorlie/Boulder, Morawa , Dalwallinu Williams and Gascoyne Art Exhibitions. Also with Art Societies throughout Australia. Her work is represented in private collections, Shire Councils and offices in Western Australia, locally and in the country. Also in the Eastern States of Australia, Canada, United States of America, Germany, United Kingdom, Poland, New Zealand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Scotland Indonesia, Japan, China, Italy and France. Bernice belongs to the Watercolour Society of Western Australia where she held the position of Vice President for five years. A member of the Royal Queensland Art Society, and the Alfred Cove Art Society. She is currently a member of Western Australian Society of Arts and held the position of Secretary between 1985-1992, Bernice has travelled extensively throughout UK, Greece, Turkey, France and Italy, Spain and Portugal, Croatia and throughout Australia, committing paint to paper, working off and on the beaten track. She especially finds the Kimberley's and Pilbara in Western Australia, the Olgas and Kakadu areas in the Northern Territory a wonderful source of inspiration and joy.
