Roger is an experienced artist whose global journey across continents deeply informs his creative practice. Born in Singapore to a British military family, he spent his early years in Southeast Asia before moving to the UK, later serving 22 years in the Royal Air Force. His career brought him to Australia in 1986 and later to Papua New Guinea, the Middle East, and back to Perth, where he now lives and works.

Art has been a lifelong passion for Roger. After excelling in art during his school years, he returned to focused artistic practice later in life, completing a Diploma in Fine Art at the Academy Studios in Aubais, France, linked to the Royal Academy in London. Partially self-taught, he continues to study art history and technique, committed to developing his craft.
For him, the feeling associated with putting down colour and shape is about adventure in movement and colour, and not just technically finding realism. Roger works regularly in acrylics, pastels, oils and watercolours and he invests time in understanding all these media continually to promote his artistic endeavour and to create from the heart. This all circles to his core belief that “Art is life—ever changing, ever challenging.”
He has exhibited in solo and group shows both in Australia and internationally, including a solo exhibition in Dubai. Additionally, his work has been featured in publications and held in private collections across the UK, USA, France, and Australia. He regularly exhibits in Perth, has participated in the Army Art, Cossack Awards, and the annual WASA Art Exhibitions. Currently, Roger has a studio in the Pakenham Street Studio Space in Fremantle and continues to travel often facilitating new perspectives and tones to be show through his landscapes.
