Still Life - Drawing and Painting Evening with a sip of vino
Michele Scott, our still-life artist, will arrange a still-life display for participants to paint, draw, or sketch.

Theme:  Still Life
Still-life refers to any subject that is stationary or inanimate. It encompasses a variety of man-made or natural objects, such as cut flowers, fruit, vegetables, fish, game, anything dead, and wine.

Theme:  9 X 5 Impression Exhibition  
Follow the steps of Condor, Roberts and Streeton by painting a 9 x 5-inch Impression Exhibition held in Melbourne on 17th August 1889.  Many of the artworks were painted on cigar box lids.

(1907-1954) was a famous Mexican painter known for her self-portraits.  Her work is known for its bold colours, personal nature, and exploration of identity, gender and race.

You are invited to attend, adorned with flowers in your hair, as a tribute to Freda.
Wattle Day 2025
SAVE THE DATE
The City of South Perth Historical Society has kindly invited the Western Australian Society of Arts to host an En Plein Air competition for their Wattle Day Event. Wattle Day will be held on Saturday, August 30th around Heritage House (Gallery & Cultural Centre) in South Perth. South Perth holds a special place in WASA’s history. This was where many of the founders of the Wilgie Sketching Club (later to become the West Australian Society of Arts) lived and painted.
